The Langley Legion has informed us that LSS student Chantelle Cardin came 1st at the Zone level ( from here to Hope ) . Her Remembrance Day Poem will now go on to join Desiree Wallace's and Alex Brown's Senior Poster Zone winners at the Provincial level.

Langley Senior Secondary student Braedon Dolfo has been selected to be part of Canada's paralympic track and field team. On March 20th to April 4th, Braedon travels to Orlando Florida for a National training camp. Throughout the sping and summer, Braedon will be competing in the USA and Canada with the goal to qualify for the international world track and field championships in January 2011 which will be held in New Zealand. This sixteen year old currently trains with the Langley Mustangs. Braedon is legally blind, and has been since he was 11 years old. He has a condition called glaucoma which affected his eyesight as early as 5 years old with the onset of cateracts. Braedon is a tough competitor with talent in sprints, jumps and the javelin throw. His disability has not held him back when he has competed at all levels of track and field - he recently competed in the University of Washington Husky open meet for university athletes. The National Team selection will give him a unique opportunity to compete on the international stage.
