Langley Secondary Art students in Mr. Grant’s Visual Arts 11 class entered their posters into this years Royal Canadian Legion’s (Canada wide) Remembrance Day poster contest. This is the first year that Mr.Grant’s classes have submitted their posters for this contest.
In the Senior Colour category LSS Visual Art students placed 1st, 2nd, and third in Langley.
In the Senior Black and White category LSS Visual Art students also placed 1st, 2nd, and third in Langley.
In the Senior poetry category a LSS Visual Art student placed 1st in Langley, and the same student placed 2nd in the Senior Essay category.
The 1st place winner’s posters went on to the Regional level which involves all of the schools from Langley to Hope /and Mission to Hope.
LSS Art student Desiree Wallace’s colour poster came 1st at the Regional level.
LSS Art student Alex Brown ‘s B&W poster also came 1st at the Regional level.
We are still waiting to hear how Chantelle Cardin’s poem did at the this level, as it was 1st in Langley.
Desiree and Alex’s posters have been sent to the Provincial level where they will be judged against all of the schools in BC. The 1st place winners at the Provincials are then judged against all of the schools in Canada.
